Evans Valley Fire District #6 Receives $15,000 Grant from Cow Creek

Evans Valley, OR – Evans Valley Fire District #6 has received a $15,000 grant from Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation to support the purchase of modern, dual-purpose firefighting helmets for its volunteer firefighters.

The funding will allow the District to replace aging helmets with lighter models designed for both structural and wildland firefighting. These upgrades reduce firefighter fatigue, help prevent neck strain, and improve visibility during emergency operations.

This grant directly supports firefighter safety and readiness, and for a rural, volunteer-based department, this type of support makes a meaningful difference.

The new helmets eliminate the need for multiple helmet types and improve operational efficiency. Any remaining funds will be used for essential helmet-mounted accessories.

Evans Valley Fire District #6 serves a large rural area and relies on community partnerships to maintain emergency response capabilities. The District thanks Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation for its continued commitment to supporting first responders and local communities.
